Bell inscribed with the fourth year of Cheongnyeong

This bell was excavated in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province with an inscription of the fourth year of Cheongnyeong, which was the regnal year of Emperor Daozong of the Khitan Empire in China. The fourth year of Cheongnyeong, as shown in the inscription suggests that the bell was produced in 1058 (12th year in the reign of King Munjong of Goryeo). According to the inscription, the production of this bell was commissioned as a tribute wishing for the longevity of King Munjong. The bell weighed 150 geun in the old Korean unit of weight, or 90kg.
