Pottery with Eggplant Design

This ceramic vessel is decorated with a series of black eggplant-shaped designs along its shoulder. This type of pottery is similar to red burnished pottery, in terms of its forms and the base clay. Although pottery with the eggplant-shaped design has been discovered at some dwelling sites, it has primarily been recovered from dolmens and stone-cist burials, indicating that it was used as a grave good or ritual item.
