Celadon Lobed Vase with Chrysanthemum and Peony with inlaid design

The royal family and aristocracy of the Goryeo dynasty planted gardens and pursued the hobby of cultivating and appreciating flowers and
trees. Flowers were also presented as tribute to the royal court and at religious rituals as a means to express sincerity. Vessels in the shape
of a Korean melon (chamoe) inlaid with designs of peonies and chrysanthemums are presumed to have been used as vases for holding
flowers.
