Maebyeong, Vase Goryeo white porcelain

Goryeo white porcelain was produced at kiln sites where celadon
was being made. The base clay used for white porcelain vitrified at a
higher temperature than did celadon clay. It was therefore not
completely vitrified after firing and instead became soft with a texture
something like damp plaster. This example was not completely
vitrified and reflects a milky white hue and similarities with early
celadon maebyeong produced during the Goryeo dynasty.
