Buncheong Bottle with Inlaid Lotus Scroll Design

With a relaxed curve that flows from the flared mouth through the slender neck and bulbous body, and a small foot for added stability, this bottle represents the typical form of bottles from the early Joseon period. The shape harmonizes well with the decorative composition, which is highlighted by an elaborately inlaid lotus scroll design. Lotus flowers appear on three sides of the body, all connected by a stem that forms a semi-circle. While the lotus flowers and leaves are inlaid with black clay, the background is filled with dots of inlaid white clay.
