To ancient people, the natural world was something to fear, which they attempted to overcome by means of magic. It is presumed that this shell mask unearthed from a shell mound in Dongsam-dong, Busan was used at a ritual held by villagers. It is important material for the study of the religious and creative activities of the people of the Neolithic Period.
