Decorated using both relief and inlay techniques, this is an early form of inlaid celadon bowl. Flower, grape, and child designs created in a mold cover the interior. The contours of the children and the creases in their costumes are expressed in black slip inlay, while their bodies are described using white slip inlay. These innocent-faced children are shown either holding a lotus flower or a lotus fruit or hunting a bird with a slingshot.
