Throughout Korean history, various types of burial goods, called myeonggi, were placed in tombs to wish for the happiness of the deceased and aid in the transition to the afterlife. Joseon burial goods were usually quite small, like toys, and they included figurines of men, women, and horses, as well as practical vessels such as bowls, dishes, and jars.
