This is an official seal made by the Yebu (Ministry of Rites) of the Goryeo Dynasty. The Chinese characters (大同(?)八年 三月 日) are vertically inscribed on one side of the handle, while the inscription “Yebujo” (禮部造), ‘Made by the Ministry of Rites’) is marked on the other side of the handle. The seal was used to print Chinese characters reading “Seonsu dojegongjiin” (宣壽都提控之印), which are inscribed in two vertical lines. “Seonsu” refers to Emperor Yingzong of the Yuan Dynasty.
