These pistol-shaped bronze wares, excavated from the Archaeological Site in Sang-ri, Pyongyang, in North Korea, were parts of a horse harness, and served to fix the reins tightly to a cart. Most harness parts were influenced by those introduced from the Han Dynasty of China, but these artifacts are uniquely Korean, the like of which cannot be found in China.
