This painting by Jeong Seon (1676-1759) portrays people seeing off Yi Chun-je (1692~1761), a friend of the painter, upon his departure for Qing China as one of the companions of a royal envoy. The Chinese characters on the top left of the painting state that it was produced in the Sinhae Year (1731), when the painter was 56 years old.
