This is a portrait of Yi Saek (pen-name: Mogeun, 1328-1396), a great scholar of the late Goryeo Period. The Chinese characters written on both edges of the portrait state, “He was a person with a pure personality. His academic learning reached a high level of maturity….” They are a transcription of a composition made by his disciple.
