This mirror unearthed from Pyongyang contains a relief carving of auspicious animals, such as a dragon and a tiger, along with images of the immortals, including Xi Wangmu (Queen Mother of the West) and Dong Wangfu (King Father of the East). Mirrors containing auspicious animal designs began to be produced in the Eastern Han Period, and were fashionable during the Three Kingdoms Period and the West Jin Periods of China. The mirror also contains images of roof tiles, buildings, and a person appearing to play a musical instrument.
