These two crystal sarira reliquaries, found inside a bronze cylinder-shaped sarira casket, are inscribed with Chinese characters which indicate that they were made in 1510 (the 5th year of the reign of Emperor Zhengde of Ming China). Each reliquary has a hole for inserting the sarira, and each of the three sides of the reliquary contains the character “beom” (梵 – meaning Buddhist scripture) set in a circle.
