While no one knows exactly when it was first played, the Korean traditional board game called gonu has long been a favorite folk game enjoyed widely across the country. Its long history has led to it being given many different names, including goni, kkoni, kkonjiri and gono in Korean, and even different rules depending on the region in which it is played.
