The blade of this axe is shaped like a fan. Such axes have mainly been found in archaeological sites of the Liaoning-type bronze dagger culture in Northeast China. In the Korean Peninsula, such axes are generally found among the remains of the early Iron Age along with Korean-type bronze daggers. Casts have also been found at the sites in Geumya-eup, Geumya-gun, Hamgyeongnam-do and Songguk-ri, Buyeo, Chungcheongnam-do. This fan-shaped axe was superseded by a bronze axe with broad shoulders.
