This album comprises fourteen pages of paintings, each of which contains writings about the origins of and intentions behind each painting, and an appreciation or critique thereof. The painter, Seong Hyeop, whose works were inspired by the lives of both aristocrats and commoners, is not well known. He painted diverse scenes of aristocrats’ way of life, depicting them eating grilled meat in the open air, being touted on the street, playing the gayageum (a Korean traditional stringed musical instrument) under a tree, and so forth. In his paintings of commoners, he depicted wedding scenes, Korean chess games, weaving, trips to marketplaces, fishing, and so on. There is a poem on the left of the first page.
