This exquisite gold object, which served to hold a glass sarira bottle, is one of several treasures forming the sarira reliquary set discovered during the dismantling and restoration of the Five-story Stone Pagoda in Wanggung-ri, Iksan in 1965. The bottle stand is shaped like a lotus pedestal with upturned petals, and has a square saucer designed to seat the base of the sarira bottle. The attractive triangular composition created when the bottle is placed on the stand and the contrast between the green bottle and the golden cap and the base displays an outstanding artistic beauty.
