This is a rafter roof-end tile of a kind commonly used during the Baekje Period. The square hole (0.7 cm × 0.7 cm) in its middle was made so it could be fixed to a wooden rafter with a nail. Rafter roof-end tiles with a lotus design were used during the Baekje Period, when its capital was located in Sabi, today’s Buyeo, between the late 6th and early 7th century.
