This is a typical bronze mirror produced in the Goryeo Period. The edge of the mirror is decorated with flowers with eight petals, while a natural landscape comprising two people in a forest with a flowing creek are depicted in relief on its back. The scene is inspired by an ancient Chinese tale about two scholars named Chao Fu and Xu You who lived as hermits and refused to accept the king of Yao’s proposal that they take over the kingdom.
