This book is a collection of sermons given by the great Yuan monk Mengsan and translated into Korean. For a long time it was a very popular guidebook on Zen Buddhism among Korean Buddhists. The main text in Chinese characters is supplemented by gugyeol (Korean phonetic signs) to help Korean readers read the Chinese text. The book also contains a translation of the main text into Korean.
