Convex roof-end tiles with a lotus design made during the Ungjin Period of Baekje (475-538) display stronger features unique to Baekje than other roof-end tiles produced at an earlier date. They also display new methods of production, which are thought to reflect the influence of more advanced production skills imported from China. Convex roof-end tiles made during the Ungjin Period are characterized by round petals and slight changes in the edge of the petals. Representative tiles from this period have been unearthed at the Daetongsa Temple Site, the Seohyeolsa Temple Site, the Archaeological Site in Jeongjisan Mountain, the Tomb of King Muryeong, and Tomb No. 6 in Songsan-ri, Gongju.
