This is an ukiyo-e painting by Suzuki Harunobu (1725?–1770), a painter of the mid-Edo Period in Japan. This painting is classified as benizuri-e, literally meaning “a crimson printed picture,” which was a type of primitive ukiyo-e print. The painting portrays a young couple walking near a willow tree on a windy day. There is also a poem written in the middle of the painting.
