This ukiyo-e (woodblock print) was done by Okumura Masanobu (1686-1764) during the mid-Edo Period of Japan. He learned the woodblock print from Torii Kiyonobu and Gaikitsu Tofa. This painting portrays a scene from Naganocho inside the entrance to Shin Yoshihara, Japan, using a perspective-based technique under the influence of Western paintings.
