Seonghakjibyo, Summary of Confucian Classics for the King, was compiled in 1575 (the 8th year of King Seonjo’s reign) by Yi I (penname: Yulgok, 1536-1584), a great Confucian scholar of the mid-Joseon Dynasty. The contents are abstracts of Confucian scriptures that were thought to be useful for the king. This article was published in 1755 (the 35th year of King Yeongjo’s reign).
