This bronze bowl used to stand in the main prayer hall of Yeongtongsa Temple. The edge of the mouth has a two-tiered surface, while below the mouth there is an inscription reading “Yeongtongsa geumdang jubuljeon chukseong cheondeung hwajeong” (靈通寺金堂主佛前祝聖千火丁). Yeongtongsa Temple was built at the foot of Ogwansan Mountain in Gaegyeong (present-day Gaeseong) in 1027 (the 18th year of the reign of King Hyeonjong of the Goryeo Dynasty) as a venue for ceremonial rites for deceased ancestors of the royal court.
