This book is the Korean translation of Zhongyong (Doctrine of the Mean), one of the four leading neo-Confucian classics, with commentaries on the texts. Because Joseon valued neo-Confucianism as the guiding ideology and morality of the country, the Confucian classics were frequently published throughout the lengthy Joseon Period. This book was published in 1810 (the 10th year of King Sunjo’s reign).
