Samganghaengsildo, an Illustrated Guide to the Three Bonds, is a collection of stories about loyal subjects, devoted sons, and virtuous wives taken from Korean and Chinese books. It was compiled by scholars including Seol Sun in 1434 (the 16th year of the reign of King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty) at the behest of the king. It comprises three volumes, and contains illustrations designed to help people understand the contents more easily. It is known to be the first textbook on ethics ever published in Korea, as well as the most widely read book. It had a profound influence on pictorial woodblock printing of the Joseon Dynasty.
