This ceramic bowl with an upright mouth and a flat base was made using fine clay mixed with sand. The surface is generally reddish brown although there are also black areas, and it is decorated with a meandering pattern composed of double parallel lines and dots. First discovered with the pottery excavated in the 4th layer of Seopohang, the meandering pattern appears to have been prevalent throughout the northeastern part of the Korean Peninsula. It is regarded as positive evidence of active and diverse exchanges between different regions during the late Neolithic Period.
