This is a map of China and its neighboring countries. The map displays the names of the thirteen provinces of the Ming Dynasty of China, and the kingdoms that had previously existed in China. The names of places in China, such as the Yellow River or the Great Wall, are mixed with those of the Atlantic, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Arabia, and various places in Southeast Asia. It suggests that people in China did not have an elaborate view of the world beyond their country at that time.
