This gilt-bronze plate was used to mark the name and volume of Buddhist scriptures, as indicated by the Chinese characters inscribed on the back. The front of the plate contains an image of an armored divine guardian, with its hair tied in a knot, while the top is adorned with a lotus flower in full bloom, the bottom with a lotus seat.
