This book contains a list of successful candidates in a special state examination held at Okgu in Jeolla-do in the third lunar month of 1850 (the 1st year of King Cheoljong’s reign). The list presents a brief account of the personal details of each candidate inculding his name, age, address, clan seat, and the title or position of his father in the government. The list, handwritten and stamped with an official government seal, is an important document that provides valuable insight into a special examination held to select talented people in the Jeolla-do area during the late Joseon Period.
