This is a novel based on “Records of the Three Kingdoms,” the official and authoritative historical text on the period of the Chinese Three Kingdoms (Wei, Wu, and Shu) from 189 to 280, written by Chinese historian Chen Shou (233-297) in the third century. The work has been widely read by Koreans, first in the form of the Chinese originals and then in Korean translations. This edition was published in 1919.
