This wooden statue of a Buddha is characterized by a high topknot, a body slightly bent forward, a heavenly robe draped from both shoulders to form U-shaped folds at the abdomen, arms that were made separately before being affixed to the body, and hands displaying a symbolic sign by touching the tips of the thumbs with those of the index fingers. The entire body is gilt and contains traces of black lacquer.
