Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is a benign Buddhist saint trying to save the suffering people. The rock seat above the water’s surface symbolizes Potalaka Mountain, where Avalokitesvara is said to live. A kundika bottle lies at his side with a willow twig in it, as well as blue bamboo. A young Sudhana bows with both hands clasped together upon coming across Avalokitesvara after spending much time seeking the truth.
