These five horse-shaped belt hooks were found to the left side of the occupant of Tomb No. 5 in Cheongdang-dong, Cheonan. Each horse’s belly is narrow and straight, and one of the two forelegs of each horse is bent foreward at a right angle to the remaining foreleg and on a straight line with the horse’s body. Two joints were distinctly expressed in the remaining foreleg and on a hoof on the foreleg bent foreward. These bronze belt hooks shed new light on both the culture of the Later Three Kingdoms Period and the true nature of Mahan.
