The center loops of these earrings were made by joining two thin gold plates. Below the loose loops are round middle ornaments, which were made by linking several rings, while cone-shaped drops are attached to the middle ornaments. These earrings are said to have been excavated at Gyeongju, but they look similar to earrings unearthed from the area previously occupied by Goguryeo. Similar earrings were also unearthed from the northern mound of the Hwangnamdaechong Tomb in Gyeongju and Tomb No. 1 in the Maxian District, Ji’an, China. They are presumed to date back to the early 5th century.
