These are rubbed copies from the monuments erected to commemorate the construction of the fortress on Namsan Mountain in Gyeongju during the reign of King Jinpyeong of Silla. Ten such monuments have been found, and these rubbings were taken from six of them. The Chinese characters are inscribed in a simple, antiquated style. The contents of the monuments are similar to each other, including the date of the work's completion and the oath.
