This concave roof-end tile was unearthed from Achasanseong Fortress in Gwangjang-dong, Seoul. The tile is brownish yellow in color; and is made with clay containing some sand particles. Its face is inscribed with scroll designs while its back contains irregular parallel patterns. Unlike convex roof-end tiles, few concave roof-end tiles dating back to a period prior to the Unified Silla and Balhae Periods have been unearthed. Their shapes are similar to concave roof tiles.
