The cranial protuberance of this gilt-bronze standing Buddha is not clearly separated from the head. The face is large compared to the other parts of the body. The Y-shaped folds of the robe are clearly carved in such a way as to create a three-dimensional effect. The body and the robe form a harmonious whole. The small hands are a typical feature of the gilt-bronze Buddha statues made in the 8th century, the golden age of Unified Silla. This statue has been dated to sometime after the mid-8th century due to the facial expression and the downward extension of the robe’s hem.
