Joseon celadon was made by covering white clay with a glaze containing iron. This bowl is celadon green with white cracks. During the Joseon Dynasty, celadon was produced mainly in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do from the 15th to the 17th centuries. This bowl was created in a form identical to the white porcelain produced in the same period. The shape of this large bowl is typically seen in white porcelain bowls or buncheong bowls of the 15th century.
