In this portrait, Yi Si-baek, a civil official of the late Joseon Period, clearly identifiable by the Chinese characters written at the top, is depicted wearing an official hat and a green ceremonial robe. The posture and attire of the subject display the style of the 17th century, but the portrait is presumed to be a replica of a painting made in the late Joseon Period, judging from the way the face is colored, the way the lines are drawn, and the way the shapes are portrayed on the piece of embroidered cloth attached to the front and back of the official robe, along with the use of chiaroscuro.
