In this portrait, Kim Jang-saeng is depicted wearing an official hat and a dark green ceremonial robe, to the front of which is attached a rank badge embroidered with a crane design. His face is portrayed as light brown. The portrait exhibits the technique of chiaroscuro, but variously colored lines were also used, depending on the part of the body.
