Lu Ji (1477-?) was a painter of birds and flowers who worked at the royal palace during the Ming Dynasty. The rock on the cliff is depicted in the style of the Zhe school of painting, and the trees and birds are elaborately drawn. The lower-right of the work contains the painter’s seals.
