The body of this gilt-bronze standing Amitabha Buddha and its pedestal were made in a single piece. The two arms of the Buddha display both the dispelling of fear mudra and the granting of compassion mudra. The technique used to create this statue and the overall structure is associated with the gilt-bronze Buddha statues of the late Unified Silla period. Two elements that distinguish it from other Buddha statues made during this period, which generally feature flat surfaces and line engravings, are its chubby face and the three-dimensional portrayal of the folds of the robe.
