This celadon cup is inscribed with the Chinese character ‘gwi’ (鬼, ‘ghost’) in four places on the upper portion of its body. Each character is surrounded by a white double circle. Its original function is not known for certain, but the inscription suggests that it cup was used during Daoist rituals, which were commonly performed during the Goryeo period.
