The Changsha Kiln in China inherited and further developed the legacy of the Yuezhou Kiln of the Tang Dynasty and contributed greatly to the creation of the oil color drawing technique through which white porcelain can be colored. This celadon ewer made of soft clay has a short mouth and neck, a voluptuous belly, a small handle and a wide bottom. It is covered with brownish-blue glaze with applique human figure designs decorating the area below the handle and both ears.
