This is part of a collection of poems composed by Shin Wi (pen-name: Jaha), who excelled at poetry, writing, and painting, together with some close friends. These Chinese characters are thought to have been written for a wooden board to be hung at a pavilion. Shin Wi’s handwriting exudes an impression of softness and loveliness. The calligraphic work is a valuable example that sheds insight on how men of letters exchanged friendship with each other in the late Joseon period.
