These paintings are believed to have been painted by Kim Hong-do (1745-after 1806). Originally, a total of forty-five paintings depicting scenes of cultivation and sericulture activities were made by Lou Shu and submitted to Emperor Gaozong of the Southern Song Dynasty in China. Kim Hong-do’s version consists of thirty paintings, including twelve scenes of cultivation and eighteen scenes of sericulture activities.
