A total of three portraits of Heo Mok have been identified so far. One of his portraits kept at the National Museum of Korea contains a statement on Yi Myeong-gi’s production of a replica of his portrait at the order of King Jeongjo. This portrait shows deep wrinkles around the eyes and thick white eyebrows. Any technique of shading designed to express bends and turns is hard to find.
